However, we do know that the actual number of cases and deaths is higher due to underreporting in some countries.” saying.

Ghebreyesus stated that there has been a large increase in the number of cases in the last two months, especially in Asia, and said that they continue to receive regular notifications of cases from Africa.

“As I did with Covid-19, I created a review committee to help countries manage the monkeypox virus in the long term and advise me on lasting recommendations,” Ghebreyesus said. he said.

WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic said: “Last year, 61 people lost their lives in Europe due to extreme heat. This year we have also had a very hot summer period.
