Extreme heat alert issued after tropical storms in the US

The dangerous heat wave was reported to have affected 68.8 million people, or more than 20 percent of the US population.

Flooding and landslides followed Tropical Storm Harold, which affected Hillary and Texas, marking the first tropical storm to hit Southern California in 84 years.

It has been announced that Tropical Storm Franklin, which hit the coasts of Hispaniola and Puerto Rico in the Dominican Republic and Haiti in the southeastern United States, could cause deadly landslides and flooding.

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration warned that this year’s hurricane season will be above normal, reporting that between 14 and 21 storms are expected.
