Woman fined for struggling during sexual assault

The international public is talking about what happened to Milica Zivkovic, who lives in Montenegro… A 24-year-old girl living in the city of Kolasin in the north of the country, returning home after leaving a place with her friend, realized that a man was following them at night.

After a while, the man approached them, first verbally and then physically abusing him. The aggressive man touched the young woman’s buttocks and crotch. But Zivkovic, enraged by this situation, pounced on the man.

The young woman said that the Montenegrin people support her.

The young woman, who had been training kickboxing for four years, hit the man. After the fact escalated in a short time, the man and the woman were in court.

Zivkovic, who appeared before the judge, lived the scare of his life here. Zivkovic was found guilty of “paying too much” to the man. The court fined the young woman 80 euros for disturbing public order, alleging that she exaggerated in “self-defense”.

The attacker, who was arrested, was released after paying the fine. The sexual offender was fined 370 euros. The fine imposed on the young woman provoked the reaction of human rights organizations.

EVEN THE PRIME MINISTER REACTED

Montenegrin Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic also reacted to the court decision. Commenting: “Unfortunately, it’s very bad,” Abazovic said, “it’s sad to see examples of the need for change in the judiciary. But Milica was fearless and bravely and calmly defied the man who pressured her and stood up to he”.

Zivkovic said: “In general, people’s reactions are very positive. “People think I’m doing the right thing,” he said.
