Thousand Palestinians on indefinite hunger strike

Ahmed al-Kudra, Director of the Palestinian Prisoners Press Office, made a written statement on the issue. Noting that approximately 1,000 Palestinian prisoners from all of Israel’s prisons went on an indefinite hunger strike from 7:00 pm “to protest the aggression of the prison administration,” Kudra noted that all Palestinians must mobilize and “go out to the streets” to support the prisoners. .

Kudra called on Palestinians living in the occupied West Bank to take action tomorrow to protest the “brutal” attack on detainees in jails.

In a joint press release made today by the human rights organizations dealing with Palestinian detainees, it was stated that the administration of the Negev prison in southern Israel raided sections 3 and 4 of the prison and transferred the detainees detained there.

In the statement, it was indicated that excessive tension was unleashed in the prisons after the incident.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners Association, there are approximately 5,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, including more than 1,200 in administrative detention.
