Military intervention meeting in Niger after the coup
The Chiefs of Staff of the countries of the Economic Community of West African Countries (ECOWAS) announced that they will hold an extraordinary meeting in Ghana today and tomorrow for the decision of the Foresight Forces to intervene in Niger .
The ECOWAS Committee of Defense Chiefs of Staff (CCDC) announced that the ECOWAS Foresight Forces (ESF), based in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, will come together to make the decision to intervene against the administration of the board in Niger. This meeting of the commanders was previously scheduled for Saturday, August 12, but was postponed in order to exhaust diplomatic means to restore constitutional order in the Republic of Niger.
At the meeting held on August 10 by the heads of the ECOWAS country, CCDC had the ECOWAS Foresight Forces ready for the restoration of constitutional order in the Republic of Niger in case of any need for intervention. (DHA)
