ATMs gave out too much money in Ireland, queues formed at banks

In Ireland, some Bank of Ireland ATMs have even allowed customers who have no money in their account to withdraw funds, while giving higher amounts to those who want to withdraw smaller amounts.

With the spread of information on social networks, those who wanted to withdraw money from these ATMs formed long lines.

In the statement from the police authorities, it was indicated that “human activity and extraordinary noises” were reported at 40 different points, for which reason the police were sent to these points.

“DON’T MAKE TOO MUCH MONEY”

In the statement made by the Bank of Ireland on the social networking platform X, formerly Twitter, it was indicated that there was a technical problem in the bank’s ATM and mobile application, and noted the following:

“We would like to remind our customers that money transfers, withdrawals and payment transactions above the normal limits will be reflected in their accounts. We are aware that our customers cannot control their balances, but you should not make any additional withdrawals or transfers.”

Subsequently, the bank announced that the technical problem was resolved and both the ATMs and the mobile application began to function normally. (AA)
