Conflicts in Libya intensified, university education suspended
In Tripoli, the capital of Libya, an armed conflict broke out between the Government of National Unity and forces affiliated with the Libyan Presidential Council.
An unidentified official from the Ministry of the Interior of the Government of National Unity reported that clashes took place in some parts of the capital between the “Rada”, the Unit against Crime and Terrorism under the Presidency of the Presidential Council of Libya, and the “444 Brigade” of the Government of National Unity. The official said clashes were continuing near the Ayn Zara region, south of the capital. According to eyewitnesses, military vehicles belonging to both armed groups were deployed in the capital’s Salahaddin, Ayn Zara and Tarik al-Shat districts.
Malik Mersit, one of the officials at the capital’s Emergency Medicine and Support Center, told Al-Ahrar television that after the security problems experienced, many ambulances were sent to the Ayn Zara region. Mersit said the Center for Emergency Medicine and Care declared a general mobilization in the capital.
There was no information on whether there were casualties in the clashes.
The University of Tripoli also suspended its studies on education and exams due to clashes in the capital.
On the other hand, the spokesman for the Mitika International Airport, Suleiman al-Juheymi, said in a statement to the private television channel Libya al-Ahrar that several airlines moved their planes from the Mitika International Airport to the Misrata Airport as a precaution. due to stress. in the capital.
