Monsoon rains continue to claim lives

In Bangladesh, Cox’s Bazar Commissioner Muhammad Shaheen Imran told Anadolu Agency that 480,000 people were negatively affected by the floods, 16 people including 3 children lost their lives and 2 people were missing.

The floods in the region are estimated to have caused financial damage of 14 million Bangladesh swaps (approximately $128,000).

It was noted that the road between Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar, which was closed due to flooding, was opened when the waters receded.

800 THOUSAND PEOPLE NEGATIVELY AFFECTED

Chattogram Commissioner Abul Bashar Mohammed Fakhruzzaman also told Anadolu Agency (AA) that 13 people were killed and at least 9 people missing in the floods that affected nearly 800,000 people in the region.

The lives of thousands of people are negatively affected every year due to the monsoon rains, which are usually seen in the period from June to September in Bangladesh. Search and rescue efforts continue in flood-affected areas.
