Attacks on the Koran continue in Denmark

Members of the anti-Islamic and racist group “Danske Patrioter (Danish Patriots)” in Denmark burned the Koran in front of the Embassy of Turkey, Algeria, Pakistan, Indonesia and Iran in Copenhagen.

The members of the group, who carried out their provocations accompanied by the police, chanted anti-Islamic slogans.

The group shared these moments live on their social media accounts. Facebook had restricted some of the group’s videos.

PROVOCATIONS IN SWEDEN AND DENMARK

While attacks on the Qur’an have intensified recently in Sweden and Denmark, allowing these provocations generates backlash.

Far-right Danish politician and leader of the Solid Direction Party, Rasmus Paludan, continued his provocations of burning the Holy Quran in the Swedish cities of Malmö, Norköpin, Jönköping and the capital Stockholm during the 2022 Easter holidays.

Paludan burned the Quran in front of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm on January 21 and the Turkish Embassy in Copenhagen on January 27.

Iranian-born Danish artist Firoozeh Bazrafkan also attacked the Holy Quran in Copenhagen on August 5.

Many countries, especially Turkey, reacted to the fact that these actions were carried out under police protection and obtaining permission from the authorities. (AA)
