North Korea launches ballistic missile again
According to the Yonhap news, in a statement by the South Korean General Staff, it was reported that North Korea launched a ballistic missile in the direction of the East Sea.
In the statement, it was indicated that the investigations continue to find out the details about the missile fired.
North Korea is on record taking this action in response to the United States sending the USS Annapolis nuclear submarine to South Korea.
TESTING CONTINUES
After 42 years, the US sent the Ohio-class nuclear submarine USS Kentucky to South Korean waters, raising tensions in the region.
USS Kentucky anchored in Busan port on July 18 and left South Korean waters on July 21 after a 3-day visit.
North Korea conducted a short-range ballistic missile test in the direction of the Sea of Japan (East Sea) on July 18.
The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff reported on July 22 that North Korea had launched several cruise missiles into the Yellow Sea.
Jang Do Young, one of the spokesmen for the South Korean Navy, said the USS Annapolis nuclear submarine sent by the US has arrived in the country, and the nuclear-powered submarine, which also has conventional weapons, has anchored in the Jeju Islands to load various materials. (AA)
