Dismantled the largest Russian spy network
In an interview with Poland’s state radio station, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak made statements about the Russian spy network in the country and the arrival of the Wagner Group in Belarus.
Blaszczak announced that the Russian spy network operating in the country was cracked by the National Prosecutor’s Office and the National Security Service (ABW).
“WE ARE AWARE OF THE DANGER”
Blaszczak, who claimed that said spy network was “established by the Kremlin to carry out terrorist attacks to destabilize Poland”, called this “attempts to resuscitate the Russian empire” and stressed that they were aware of the danger it represents for their country.
Asked if such groups would pose a threat to Poland, Blaszczak replied: “Polish security services are working day and night against any Russian provocation.” he gave the answer.
In March and July, 15 people accused of spying for Russian military intelligence were detained in the country.
WAGNER GROUP DETECTED AS A THREAT
Regarding the arrival of the Wagner Group in Belarus, Blaszczak said: “We must realize that the arrival of several thousand Wagner Group mercenaries from Russia in Belarus also poses a threat to our country.” he used the phrase.
Stating that the Committee on Defense and National Security Affairs has discussed the possible risks, Blaszczak said that it was decided to transfer the troops from western Poland to the city of Biala Podlaska and the town of Kolno.
BELARUS RECOMMENDS THE WAGNER GROUP TO SETTLE IN THE COUNTRY
Yevgeniy Prigojin, the founder of the Russian private security company Wagner, launched an armed rebellion against the Russian administration in June with his fellow fighters. The uprising ended with the intervention of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
Lukashenko, who suggested that Wagner settle in the country after Prigojin went to Belarus, noted that the Belarusian army could benefit from the experience of Wagner’s fighters.
The founder of Wagner, Prigojin, reported yesterday that his mercenaries had reached Belarusian territory.
Prigokhin, who vowed to make the Belarusian army “the second army in the world”, said he would support them if necessary. (AA)
