The state medal awarded to Erdogan by the United Arab Emirates became the agenda
Visiting the United Arab Emirates the day before, President Erdoğan met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at the Al Vatan Palace.
The state medal, which is made entirely of gold and has stones such as diamonds, rubies and emeralds, was not appreciated.
After the meeting between the delegations, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Al Nahyan, presented Erdogan with the “Zayed State Medal”. While thanking Al Nahyan, Erdoğan also posed for a photo with a dual state medal. Thus, after a while, the state medal awarded to Erdogan returned to the agenda.
Known as the highest civilian honor bestowed on heads of state and leaders, the Order of Zayed was first awarded to Naruhito, then Crown Prince of Japan, in 1995. President Erdoğan was the last person to receive the state medal, which has since been awarded to more than 30 heads of state, kings and queens.
Al Nahyan wore the state medal around the neck of 2019 Indian Prime Minister Modi.
The late Queen Elizabeth of England, former US President George W. Bush, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Syrian leader Bashar Assad, Egyptian President Sisi, former German Prime Minister Angela Merkel, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi are some of the names awarded with this medal. This title was also awarded to French President Emmanuel Macron in 2022.
Diamond, emerald and ruby stones draw attention to this engagement, which hangs from the neck and is made entirely of gold.
The decoration given to George W. Bush, one of the former presidents of the United States, is still on display in Texas.
