Statement to escalate the Russia-Ukraine crisis

Ukraine: Countries discuss grain exports without Russia

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Kuleba made a statement to the press at the United Nations (UN) building in New York.

Noting that it is important to deliver Ukrainian grain to world markets after Russia terminated the Black Sea Grain Corridor Agreement, Kuleba said “political will” is needed to do so.

Emphasizing that this is not an easy situation, Minister Kuleba said: “Russia withdrew from the agreement. Turkey, the UN and Ukraine or other countries can use the existing framework or come up with a new initiative. Of course, the biggest problem is the possibility of Russia hitting a grain ship. All options are being discussed.” he used the phrase.

Noting that the current situation cannot be sustained, Kuleba said: “We have to take risks and we must be able to show that we can continue without Russia.” saying.

Kuleba noted that not giving Ukraine arms would mean that the country would lose the war and be defenseless, in connection with the idea of some UN member states that giving arms to Ukraine triggers war.

UN EXPLANATION

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric answered questions from journalists at the daily press conference. Noting that different initiatives emerged after Russia announced that it had terminated the Black Sea Grain Corridor Agreement, Dujarric said the parties need to come together to identify safe and practical ways.

Dujarric recalled that in the letter that Russia sent to give the termination information, it made it clear that it also lifted the guarantees of navigation in the Black Sea.

Noting that the positive impact of Ukrainian and Russian grains on the world market cannot be ignored, Dujarric said: “The UN Secretary-General will continue to explore all possible ways for the export of Ukrainian and Russian grains to take place. He is determined about it”. he used the phrase.

CALLED ‘ON THE AGREEMENT’ OF THE AFRICAN UNION

African Union Commission Chairman Musa Faki Muhammed stated that he regretted the suspension of the Black Sea Grain Corridor Agreement and urged the parties to maintain the agreement.

Mohammed, in a statement on Twitter, said he regretted the suspension of the African Union-backed grain deal.

The Commission President urged the parties to solve all problems to ensure that grains and fertilizers reach the places where they are needed, in particular Africa, through a safe route.

APPLICATION OF MACRON TO RUSSIA

French President Macron made statements to the press after the summit held in Brussels to increase trade and investment between the countries of the European Union (EU) and the Latin American and Caribbean Community (CELAC).

French President Macron stated that they discussed the crises in the region and the war between Ukraine and Russia at the summit.

Stating that they condemn Russia’s termination of the Black Sea Grain Agreement, Macron stated that the decision taken by the Moscow administration will affect countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin “began to use the issue of food as a weapon,” Macron called this a “big mistake.”

GRAIN BROKER AGREEMENT

To reduce the impact of Russia’s attack on Ukraine on world food prices, the UN, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine signed the Black Sea Grain Corridor Agreement with a ceremony held in Istanbul on July 22, 2022.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitriy Peskov made a statement on the expired Black Sea Grain Corridor Agreement: “The grain corridor agreement has actually come to an end, it has stopped. Russia will immediately return to the grain agreement as soon as the relevant conditions are implemented. The part of the agreement on Russia was not fulfilled. he had used the words. (AA)
