Tragic event: came to Turkey for stomach operation, could not get up from the table
Leanne Michelle Leary, 38, flew from England to Istanbul to undergo a sleeve gastrectomy for approximately TL 69,000 (£2,000), but her journey ended with her dying alone in hospital.
According to the procedure, 80% of his stomach had to be removed and Leary thought all was perfectly safe.
After the unfortunate woman flew to Turkey from Greater Manchester on June 30, she sent her family a photo of herself in a hospital gown via WhatsApp.
However, when no one heard from Leary a few hours after the surgery was supposed to end, alarm bells began to ring.
Her family contacted the hospital and received the terrible news that Leanne had had a heart attack, but at that time they were told that she was still alive and in stable condition.
AUTOPSY WILL BE PERFORMED
Her family flew to Istanbul the next day, but when they arrived at the hospital they were devastated to learn that Leanne had died.
Leanne’s ex-husband, Steven Leary, who is the father of two, said: “Leanne was so upbeat and upbeat. My son is very angry. He was very unexpected and when you pay thousands of pounds for a medical procedure you don’t expect it to happen.”
“She went to see the doctors here and was on the waiting list to have the procedure done in this country, but it’s been five years.”
“40. She had a goal that was her birthday. She didn’t want to wait five years and she didn’t think she could lose weight on her own.”
“It was £2,000 for the whole package in Türkiye. I think the same procedure costs around £12,000 when you go privately to the UK.” saying.
The unfortunate mother was taken to England, where the autopsy was to take place.
