The joy of the North Korean leader’s ballistic missiles
North Korea warned the United States that the Hwasong-18 intercontinental ballistic missile it launched yesterday is the basis for the country’s nuclear power.
“The missile test is aimed at developing our country’s strategic nuclear power and sending a strong warning to our enemies,” North Korea’s official KCNA news agency said.

The Japanese Defense Ministry also reported that the missile fell 250 kilometers from the northern island of Hokkaido and outside the Japanese exclusive economic zone.
South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, in his speech to the National Security Council, which was meeting urgently for the launch, said North Korea would be “paid off.”
United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres said North Korea strongly condemned the ballistic missile test. Guterres called on North Korea to comply with international obligations and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, the UN said in a statement. (AGENCIES)
