Militants attack military headquarters in Pakistan
In a statement made by the Pakistani army, it was claimed that the militants carried out an armed attack on the military headquarters in the Zhob region of Balochistan.
In the statement, it was noted that 9 soldiers and 1 civilian lost their lives, 15 soldiers were seriously injured and 5 militants were neutralized in the conflict. No one claimed responsibility for the attack.
INCREASED TERRORIST ATTACKS
According to data from the Pakistan Institute for Security and Conflict Studies, terrorist attacks increased by 79 percent in the first 6 months of 2023 compared to 2022.
In the first 6 months of the year there were 271 terrorist attacks and 389 people lost their lives.
In the same period of 2022, there were 151 terrorist attacks and 293 people lost their lives.
Terror attacks have increased in the country, especially in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan in recent months.
Islamabad argues that these attacks were planned and directed by the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) based in Afghanistan. Afghanistan denies these accusations. (AA)
