Microsoft announced: a group of Chinese hackers seized emails

The American technology company Microsoft announced that the group of Chinese hackers has seized the emails of some government institutions in Western Europe.

According to Microsoft’s statement, the Storm-0558 hacker group targeted the email accounts of approximately 25 institutions and individuals, including the public, in Western Europe.

It turned out that the group’s access to the accounts went unnoticed for about a month after customers reported unusual email activity to Microsoft.

Charlie Bell, Microsoft’s vice president of security, said they believe the group is engaging in espionage activities by accessing email systems to gather information.

It has been reported that Storm-0558’s activities will be monitored and studies conducted to protect against similar attacks. (AA)
