Biden spoke clearly on TV: He pointed to Turkey

US President Joe Biden attended CNN ahead of the NATO Leaders Summit, which will take place this week. Speaking on CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, Biden used clear statements about Sweden’s NATO membership.

Biden stressed that Sweden should be a NATO member because even though it is a small country, it can hold its own and has the same values as NATO members. Biden said: “You know better than anyone that Turkey is the one blocking membership here. Türkiye and Sweden are making some legal arrangements regarding the burning of the Qur’an. Those who burn the Koran are not Swedes, they are refugees.

“MIÇOTAKIS NEEDS HELP”

Biden said: “This can be an excuse and put Erdogan in a difficult position in his country. They are moving to stop this. This is a. Second, Türkiye wants the modernization of its F-16 fleet. At the same time, the Greek Prime Minister, Mitsotakis, calls for help. And frankly, I want to do a consortium here. We want to increase NATO’s military power in both Greece and Turkey, and in the meantime we want Sweden to become a NATO member. This is a game. The game continues, it is not complete yet, ”he commented.

When Zakaria was asked “Are you hopeful in this process?” Biden replied, “But I am hopeful and actually optimistic.”

ERDOĞAN SAID SWEDEN HAS NO LINK TO THE F-16

President Erdoğan, in his recent remarks, stated that there is no connection between Sweden’s entry into NATO and the sale of the F-16, stressing that it is not correct to associate the two situations.

Erdogan and Biden met the day before and Erdogan said it is not correct to associate Turkey’s F-16 request with Sweden’s NATO membership.
