Kenya confused: 2 people died in demonstrations

Hundreds of dissidents gathered in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, and Mombasa, Kitale, Kisii and Kisumu held anti-government demonstrations, Capital News reported.

In the incidents that broke out between the police and the protesters, who burned tires and blocked the main roads, 2 people lost their lives and 7 people were injured.

George Rae, Director of the Oginga Odinga Hospital in Kisumu, shared the information that the deaths and injuries were caused by firearms.

More than 100 people were arrested during the demonstrations.

Raila Odinga, leader of the opposition Azimio Coalition, declared that they do not recognize the results after losing the August 2022 elections.

Odinga had called for “civil disobedience” against the government’s new tax decision.

The opposition also held demonstrations in March and May. (AA)
