NATO satisfaction survey

According to the NATO statement, ahead of the NATO Summit to be held in Vilnius on July 11-12, an alliance survey was conducted in 31 allied countries and Sweden.

The poll measures public support for NATO membership, common defense and defense spending in allied countries. The survey, in which a total of 30,481 interviews were conducted, was conducted between April 17 and May 18, 2023. In the survey conducted between April 26 and May 11 of last year, a total of 28,871 interviews.

In Montenegro and Albania, interviews were conducted by telephone and by random sampling, while interviews were generally conducted online. It was noted that the results for the NATO total are combined with all allied countries and take into account the size of each country’s population.

62 PERCENT BELIEVE THAT MEMBERSHIP IN NATO REDUCES THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTERNAL ATTACK

In general, support for NATO remains strong, while continued assistance to Ukraine is also supported, according to the survey results. In line with previous findings, 73 percent of those surveyed consider NATO to be important to their country’s future security.

70 percent of the participants can vote for their country to remain a member of NATO in the event of a referendum. 73% of citizens think that their country should continue or increase its defense spending.

64 percent of respondents think their country should defend another NATO ally if attacked, and 62 percent think NATO membership reduces the likelihood of an external attack. While 54 percent of those surveyed view China negatively, 66 percent view Russia negatively.

65 PERCENT BELIEVE THEIR COUNTRY SHOULD CONTINUE HELPING UKRAINE

As in the survey leading up to last year’s NATO summit, it included criteria related to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to which 64 percent of respondents said Russia’s invasion of Ukraine affected the security of their country, with 65 percent saying their country’s invasion of Ukraine. he said he thought I should continue to support them.
