Footage has been released of the raid on the home of Wagner leader Yevgeni Prigojin, who shocked everyone by starting an uprising against President Vladimir Putin in Russia.
The Wagner rebellion, a mercenary group fighting on the front lines in Ukraine, lasted less than 24 hours and Prigokhin agreed to go into exile in Belarus with the deal. Arguing that his goal was not to overthrow Putin’s administration, Prigokhin continued his harsh statements towards the army.

Russian security forces, Prigojin’s St. raided his home in St. Petersburg. The pro-Kremlin Russian newspaper Izvestiya shared pictures of the house.
Numerous weapons and ammunition, gold bars, more than $100 million in cash, multiple passports, and a dead stuffed crocodile were found in Prigojin’s luxurious home. A framed photograph of the severed heads believed to belong to Prigojin’s enemies caught the eye on the wall of the house.

Photos showing Prigojin in costume, wearing a false beard and wig were also shared on some state-sponsored social media accounts in Russia. There has been controversy over whether the photos, which gave rise to allegations that the Wagner leader worked as an agent in different countries in Libya and Sudan, were real.
Wagner fighters operate in countries including Sudan, Libya, Syria and Mali, as well as Ukraine.

Prigokhin, who was once known as “Putin’s cook” through restaurant offers he received from the Kremlin and who was close to the Russian leader, was declared a “traitor” by Putin after the rebellion.

Meanwhile, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, made a startling statement about Priokhin.
Speaking to reporters, Lukashenko said that the Wagner leader was not in Belarus, as was thought, but in Russia.
Lukashenko, who previously said “I prevented Putin from killing Prigojin”, confirmed that the Wagner leader had gone to Belarus. While the latest statement is confusing, Prigojin is not seen in public after the failed uprising.
