Putin: Foreign powers are waging a hybrid war against Russia

Putin delivered a speech at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit hosted by India via video conference.

Stating that the SCO is built on a constructive foundation, Putin said the organization plays an increasingly important role in international relations, making real contributions to maintaining peace and stability, ensuring sustainable economic growth of member states and strengthening ties between peoples.

Noting that the geopolitical contradictions in the world have intensified, the international security system continues to deteriorate, the risks of a global economic and financial crisis due to the uncontrolled accumulation of debt in developed countries, social stratification and poverty have increased, the food and environmental security has deteriorated, all of these problems have led to a marked increase in the potential for conflict. Russia feels all this directly on itself, ”she said.

“RUSSIA RESISTS FOREIGN PRESSURE”

Explaining that foreign powers have been implementing the project of creating an “anti-Russian” state in neighboring Ukraine for a long time, Putin said: “All this is done to endanger Russia’s security and prevent its development. A hybrid war is being waged against Russia. Illegal sanctions on an unprecedented scale are being imposed against Russia. “Russia stands confidently and will resist external pressures, sanctions and provocations,” he said.

Putin stressed that Russia continues to develop steadily, the Russian people are united like never before, and political circles and society are united against (Wagner’s) attempt to rebel.

Thanking the SCO countries for their support of the Russian administration, Putin said: “Our goal is to further deepen our ties with the SCO members. “Russia’s trade with SCO member states increased by 37 percent last year, reaching a record $263 billion,” he said. (AA)
