Waiting Period for Extended Passport Result in the US

According to Business Insider news, US citizens waiting for passports for their vacation plans have to postpone or cancel their plans due to long wait times.

On the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was indicated that the processing time required for passport renewal procedures is 13 weeks and 7-9 weeks for expedited applications.

It has been reported that this waiting period may be extended for a few more weeks due to delivery times.

Despite the increase in staff numbers after intense applications, US citizens had to postpone or cancel their vacation plans due to long wait times and passports not being delivered on time.

The number of people using the online passport renewal process, which was submitted for applications in August 2022, was claimed to have surpassed 500,000 in February. This system received its last applications at the beginning of the month, but the applicants stated that they still could not obtain their passports despite the fact that they applied months ago. (AA)
