Extreme heat killed in India

While experts claim that approximately 11,000 people have died due to temperatures across the country in the last century, there are concerns that this number could be much higher.

In the country, where more than 150 people have died this month due to heat waves, heat stroke causes rapid deaths, while prolonged hot weather can have deadly consequences for Indians with health problems.

According to climate experts, global warming increases up to 30 times the probability of heat waves that cause a number of deaths in South Asian countries such as India.

This situation forces India, which has a high population density, to implement its “preparedness plan” against hot weather, which is showing itself as a slow-onset disaster and increasingly becoming a public health crisis. (AA)
