Hot weather in Spain

Two people died in Spain due to the first wave of extreme heat of the summer.

A 47-year-old farmer in Seville on June 24 and a 46-year-old farmer in Ciudad Real on June 26 died from extreme heat while working in the fields, according to information from the civil aid organization and local governments.

Noting that the heat especially affects farmers and construction workers working in the open fields, the authorities demanded measures such as drinking plenty of water, wearing a hat and not staying in the open area during peak sun hours.

ALARM IS GIVEN

Due to the first wave of extreme heat of the summer, which began last weekend and is expected to leave the country starting tomorrow, 8 of the 17 autonomous administrations in Spain have raised a 1st or 2nd degree alarm.

According to weather forecasts, the air temperature in the Andalusia region, in the south of the country, will drop to 30-38 degrees starting tomorrow.

On the other hand, the Public Health Agency in Spain announced that in the summer of 2022 a total of 10 waves of extreme heat were recorded and the hottest summer in the last 30 years was detected. In the data, it was shared that 10 people died from extreme heat in 2022 and that heat had an indirect effect on 337 deaths. (AA)
