Latvia stops issuing visas to Russians

Latvia to indefinitely stop issuing visas to Russians following failed uprising by Wagner’s mercenary army. This was announced by the Foreign Ministry in Riga on Monday. It cited “the unpredictable development of internal political events in Russia” as the reason. Submitted applications that were processed on June 25 will still be processed.

Latvia had already limited the issuance of visas to Russian citizens during the war and only issued them in humanitarian cases.

This is the state of things on Tuesday 27 June

President Volodimir ZelenskI said after a meeting with his generals that the Ukrainian forces “have moved forward in all directions”. Ukrainian forces reportedly gained a foothold at the Antonovsky bridge on the left bank of the Dnieper and recaptured the village of Rivnopil.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his generals and security officials. In a speech last night, you accused Ukraine and its Western allies of wanting the Russians to “kill each other” and you said Prigozhin’s uprising was “doomed to fail”. She said she granted amnesty to the Wagner fighters so they could return to their families, join the Russian army or go to Belarus. Putin thanked security officials, including Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu, whom Prigozhin had asked to be removed from office.

Prigozin he in turn denied in an 11-minute video message that his troops were involved in an attempted coup. He said he protested his men’s treatment of him and the conduct of the war with a “march for justice”.
