New lobby claim: Erdogan to hold critical meeting next month

Bloomberg, one of the major media organizations in the US, made a notable claim regarding the Turkey-Israel line, so relations were severed for a while, but normalization steps have been taken again in the last months.

Sources who spoke to Bloomberg announced that land was sought for a meeting between President Erdogan and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. While it was claimed that the meeting could take place as early as next month, sources who did not disclose their names claimed that the two names could meet in Ankara.

Recalling that the tension between the two countries reached a breaking point after the Mavi Marmara crisis in 2010, it was noted that diplomatic relations between the two countries were resumed in August last year.

IRAN IS CRITICAL

The sources, who said the two countries grew closer due to supply chain problems after the Russia-Ukraine war, said Iran’s moves in the region brought the two countries closer. While it was claimed that Israel and Turkey were uncomfortable with Iran’s growing influence in the region, it was noted that the two countries were also supportive of Azerbaijan.

Recalling that Israeli President Isaac Herzog met Erdogan last year, Bloomberg wrote that both countries are trying to normalize with other countries in the region.

Speaking to Bloomberg, the officials said the two could meet in Ankara in July. “Both names are under pressure in their country. As Netanyahu faces a popular uprising over the bill that will reduce the power of the judiciary, Erdogan is also facing an economic crisis.

Although the issues related to the gas pipeline were expected to be discussed, no explanation was given about a possible meeting between the two countries.

“HITLER SAID EVERY 3 HOURS”

Erdogan and Netanyahu have often insulted each other in the past… Netanyahu even made a joke about Erdogan during a rally in 2020.

“In the past, President Erdogan used to call me Hitler every 3 hours,” Netanyahu said during a rally. Now he calls me Hitler every 6 hours, but thank God the trade between Israel and Turkey has increased ”. At the time, Maariv, one of Israel’s most widely read newspapers, said Netanyahu said: “I think I’m the only Israeli who didn’t go to Turkey. We had some problems with Erdogan, but our relations have improved dramatically.”
