They made kindergarten students drink addictive syrup

According to the BBC news, the police took action after complaints from families about the kindergarten called “Kid Castle Educational Institute”, which started in May and gradually increased.

In the investigation, traces of phenobarbital and benzodiazepines were found in the bodies of 8 children.

A father who sent his 5-year-old son to kindergarten said families have seen drug withdrawal symptoms in their children.

The parents, who stated that their children were unusually nervous, restless and active, stated that the children were screaming in their sleep and crying from cramps.

5 thousand dollars will be paid

While the decision to close the kindergarten in question was made on June 12, school administrators will pay a fine of approximately $5,000.

The principal and 5 teachers, who were involved in the incident within the scope of the investigation, were released on bail after their arrest.

Police said that after weeks of investigation, it is still unknown why the children were given the addictive phenobarbital and benzodiazepine syrups.

Families whose children were affected by the incident organized protests in front of government buildings.

Hundreds of people who attended the June 18 demonstrations in Taipei claimed that the investigation was not transparent enough.

THE CHILDREN SAID “UNKNOWN POINTS”

Families had complained to police about kindergarten officials after their son said he was given an “unknown potion” in kindergarten.

According to experts, the misuse of medications containing phenobarbital, which is used to treat epilepsy and depression, and benzodiazepines, which are given for anxiety, can lead to serious addiction and negative effects on the development of children. . (AA)
