Get ready to show the Titanic, lost in the ocean
According to the BBC report, teams from the Boston Coast Guard reported that the submarine used for tourist purposes was lost in the Atlantic Ocean.
While teams begin work to find the missing sub, it is not yet known how many tourists are on the sub.
Small submarines often offer tourists a scuba experience to display the wreckage of the Titanic, while tourists pay tens of thousands of dollars for it.
THE VESSEL WAS WITHIN THE WATERS OF THE NORTH ATLANTIC
The luxury liner Titanic, said to “never sink,” set sail from Southampton, England, on April 10, 1912, with 2,224 passengers and crew, bound for New York.
The ship sank in the waters of the North Atlantic after hitting an iceberg on April 15, 1912.
More than 1,500 people died in the accident, some of whom froze to death in icy waters. There were only enough lifeboats on board for 1,178 people. Arriving at the crash site a few hours later, the Carpathia ship had rescued 710 people.
The wreckage of the Titanic, the subject of numerous novels and movies, was discovered in 1985 by oceanographer Robert Ballard, 400 miles off Newfoundland. During dives conducted in 1987-2004, many items from the wreck were unearthed. (AA)
