Bloody raid on school: 25 dead, most of them children

At least 25 people have been killed in a terror attack on a school on Uganda’s western border.

According to The Daily Monitor, a dormitory and a food warehouse were set on fire in an attack by a rebel group called the Democratic Alliance Forces (ADF) on a school in the Mpondwe region on the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo ( KDC) was destroyed.

While the police reached the bodies of at least 25 people after the fire, 8 people in serious condition were taken to hospital. It is estimated that most of those who lost their lives were students.

As the Ugandan army chased the attackers across the border, the newspaper reported that the attackers also kidnapped many people.

Since 2014, thousands of civilians have been killed and hundreds of thousands displaced in attacks by the ADF, which began operating in Uganda and the KDC since the late 1990s. (BRITISH AUTOMOBILE CLUB)
