Erdogan’s posters banned in Germany

Germany, which previously prevented Erdogan from coming to the country and holding a rally, has now banned the hanging of his banners on the streets of Germany ahead of the election. Before the elections, the Nuremberg City Administration, which allowed the “Erdogan” banner to be hung in and around the train station with money, changed the aforementioned statute, which caused great controversy.

25 POSTERS FOR 800 EUROS

Nuremberg, which allowed Erdogan posters to be hung in 25 places for 800 euros before the elections on May 14 and 28, was met with strong criticism.

The Nuremberg city administration stated in its statutes that “there is no clause preventing the hanging of posters at elections held abroad or in other countries” and stated that they were required to give permission.

In view of the reactions, the city administration convened and provided that “It is not allowed to place posters, promotional letters or stands in elections, candidate promotions or voting in countries other than Germany and outside the EU.” The spokesman for the city administration announced the change of statute.

THE MEETING WAS NOT ALLOWED

In another city in Germany, it was prohibited to hang posters in the streets before the elections. This decision is expected to be implemented by other cities that have not yet made a charter change.
