FBI ‘censorship’ defense in Biden bribery investigation

Abbate testified before the US Senate Judiciary Committee on the bribery investigation involving Biden and his son, the Washington Examiner reported.

Responding to criticism about the existence of redacted sections in the documents related to the investigation, Abbate said: “The documents were redacted to protect our source (of information).” he used the phrase.

Abatte refused to provide information about the “possible criminal bribery relationship” with a Ukrainian businessman during Joe Biden’s tenure as US vice president.

Asked to bring an unredacted version of the documents to the Senate by Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, stating that “there are 17 audio recordings of a foreign national bribing Biden and his son,” Abatte said, “I have no idea if there are a ribbon”. “said he.

When Grassley was Biden’s vice president, he had asked the FBI to make publicly available classified documents that allegedly showed the “illegal exchange of money” by a foreign businessman.

TENSION BETWEEN THE LAWYERS OF THE REPUBLIC AND THE FBI

In early May, Republican lawmakers sent letters to the FBI and Justice Department requesting the document, which they claimed contained details of Biden’s “illegal exchange of money involving a foreign national” for political decisions while he was vice president.

However, the FBI declined to share information on this matter, stating that “it is critical to refrain from disclosing information that could harm judicial investigations, unfairly damage the privacy or reputation of individuals, and create a false impression on the public.”

House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer has demanded that FBI Director Christopher Wray be held liable for “contempt of Congress” for failing to provide the relevant document.

White House officials argue that the Republicans’ claims are unsubstantiated and that it is a “political demonstration.” (AA)
