Names announced to attend Berlusconi’s funeral

Silvio Berlusconi, one of Italy’s former prime ministers, died last Monday at the age of 86.

A state ceremony for Berlusconi will take place today at Milan’s Duomo Cathedral.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and AKP Vice President and Party Spokesman Ömer Çelik will attend Berlusconi’s funeral.

According to information received from AKP sources, Fidan and Çelik will go to Italy to attend Berlusconi’s funeral to be held today.

HE SAID ERDOĞAN “My BEST FRIEND”

Silvio Berlusconi once described AKP President and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as “my closest friend”.

Berlusconi, who established close relations with Turkey during his first ministry, witnessed the wedding of Erdogan’s son, Bilal Erdogan, in Istanbul in 2003.
