Neo-Nazi tattooed images of French police became an event

According to French press reports, some police officers on duty at the anti-pension reform demonstration in Lille on 6 June displayed Valknut triangle tattoos on their arms. This tattoo is widely used by Neo-Nazis in France.

The photos spread on social networks caused controversy and reaction.

Sarah Kerrich, a member of the Assembly of the Hauts-de-France Region, this week sent photos and images of the tattoos of the police officers in question to the National Police Investigation Unit (IGPN), demanding an investigation.

Kerrich’s request was forwarded to the Department of Public Safety (DDSP) in the North. Sarah Kerrich stated that DDSP has opened a file on the matter and will investigate the incident.

It is forbidden for police officers on duty in the country to carry a tattoo that symbolizes belonging to any political organization, religion or union.

The pension reform enacted this year includes raising the retirement age to 64 years. (AA)
