Critical meeting on the Ankara-Washington line
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke by phone with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken about Sweden’s NATO membership, the Turkey-Armenia and Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization processes, the purchase and modernization of F-16 and the Ukrainian grain deal.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fidan and Blinken made a phone call. Blinken congratulated Hakan Fidan, who was appointed Foreign Minister in the new cabinet announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
During the meeting, Sweden’s NATO membership, the Turkey-Armenia and Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization processes, the purchase and modernization of F-16s, and the Ukraine grain deal were discussed. Fidan and Blinken stressed their willingness to meet again as soon as possible to discuss the issues on the common agenda between the two countries. (AA)
