British media: Rich Turks buy houses in London’s luxury neighborhoods

The agenda of the British media is the increase in the number of wealthy Turks buying houses in the luxury districts of London…

The Times, one of the most widely read newspapers in the country, with the headline “Why are rich Turks buying houses in London’s elite neighborhoods?” said: “Financial instability in your country is causing many to return to the market London real estate. In Belgravia, the world’s richest seek a safe haven for their families and cash.”

The Times newspaper published a remarkable analysis.

Speaking to the newspaper, Becky Fatem, CEO of a real estate company, said: “Usually we see investors from the Middle East, Asia and the US in London, but this year one stood out with transnational activity, namely buyers of Turkey”.

“RICH WANT TO EARN THEIR MONEY”

While noting that the Turkish, Cypriot and Kurdish communities have been living together in north and south-east London for years, the paper added that “Over the last 2-3 years, Istanbul’s wealthy elite have stepped up to keep their assets in a stable place.”

In the news from Melissa York, it is claimed that the Turkish lira has lost value and inflation has increased recently, while the founder of real estate company Black Brick, Camilla Dell, said: “Due to the depreciation of the TL, the Turks can Now find a house for rent in London. But the rich are trying to get their money out of Türkiye. “Many Turks think the economy will get worse as long as Erdogan stays in office,” she said.

The newspaper, which also wrote that wealthy Turks are buying houses in the wealthy neighborhoods of the United Arab Emirates, Southeast Asia and Russia, and that Knightsbridge, Mayfair, South Kensington and Belgravia are in demand, also wrote businessman Hanzade Doğan. Boyner. he recalled that he paid £27 million for a 6-bedroom Victorian villa in Belgravia.

“TURKS LOOK FOR HOUSES WITH HIGH CEILINGS”

It was also claimed that a Turkish buyer bought a $27 million property in Cadogan Square in Knightsbridge last winter.

An estate agent who spoke to the newspaper and claimed that companies in London mediate for Turkish buyers, said: “Two Turks wanted a house. They wanted a house with high ceilings, views and an apartment assistant. I think the political uncertainty in Turkey is one of the factors that increased interest in London.”

Speaking to British media, a London estate agent said: “Some of my clients want their two children to get an education here before school starts. London is not the only option. Greece, Portugal and Italy are also on the Turks’ agenda. But the fact that English is spoken here is ideal for a smooth transition to life here.
