The son of the prime minister, who gave a party at the official residence, will be fired
In Japan, Kishida Shotaro, the secretary and eldest son of Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, will be fired for entertainment he provided at the official residence.
In Japan, the echoes of the news in the national magazine Shukan Bunshun that “Kishida Shotaro gave a party at the official residence of the prime minister” continue. News footage shows Kishida having fun with his family and foreign guests at the residence, and a pose of a person lying on the red-carpet-covered stairs.
The Japanese prime minister, who was reported to have made the necessary notifications to his secretary and his son Kishida, announced that he had made a new decision on the matter.
Prime Minister Kishida stressed that his son Kishida’s behavior at the official residence was inappropriate, due to his title as secretary and public responsibility.
Noting that he took responsibility for appointing his own son to the post of secretary, the Japanese prime minister announced that Kishida Shotaro would be removed from his official position on June 1. Prime Minister Kishida said: “Of course, the responsibility for the appointment rests with me and I take it seriously. I want to fulfill my duties moving forward with determination.”
State television NHK reported that Yamamoto Takayoshi, who held the same position before Kishida Shotaro, will be appointed secretary in the new term.
Kishida, who took office as Prime Minister in October 2021, appointed his 31-year-old son, Kishida Shotaro, as his executive secretary while he completed his first year. The Secretary of the Chief of Staff stated that at that time, the decision to appoint was made with the idea of ”putting the right person in the right place” based on the “personality and foresight of the person”.
