Erdogan’s comment draws attention from British media
The Daily Telegraph, one of Britain’s most respected newspapers, used the headline “Europe took a deep breath when Erdogan was in power.”

The British newspaper commented on the election results with the words “Europe took a deep breath.”
In the analysis, “the defeated candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had promised to bring Turkey closer to the West if he was elected. Recalling that Erdogan created riots in NATO, the British newspaper also wrote that Turkey’s military operation in Syria created tensions in European capitals and in Washington. It was also claimed that the European Union gave Turkey a very significant amount of money for Syrian refugees.
