THE TALIBAN ACCEPT IRAN

The Taliban interim government’s Defense Ministry announced that shooting by Iranian soldiers in the border area of ​​Kang district of Nimroz province sparked clashes between the two sides.

The ministry stated that “it is not in the interest of either party to make excuses for starting the war and to engage in negative behaviour”, adding that the Taliban administration sees dialogue as the most reasonable way to resolve any problem.

Abdulnafi Tekur, spokesman for the Taliban’s Interior Ministry, said in a statement on his Twitter account that one person from both sides was killed and many others injured as a result of the conflict.

Ayub Kurd, General Manager of Transport and Roads in Sistan and Balochistan, stated that due to the recent clashes on the Iran-Afghanistan border, all business activities on the Afghanistan-Malik border have been suspended until further notice.

IRAN: THE FIRE OF THE TALIBAN ANSWERED

Iran Police Department Deputy Commander General Kasım Rızayi also announced that Taliban forces started to open fire on the Sasuli border police station with heavy weapons around 10:00 local time and Iranian border guards responded. to the fire.

Rızayi stated that the clashes that ended later started a few hours ago and continued.

Ahmed Reza Radan, Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Police Force, also instructed border guards to respond decisively to “any border violations and aggressions.”

There has been tension between Iran and the Taliban over the exchange of water on the Hilmend River in recent days.

While the Taliban administration argues that due to the drought in the region, the amount of water in the Keceki Dam and Kemal Han rivers in the Hilmend River has decreased and therefore the water does not reach Iran, Iran claims that a technical delegation should visit the dams and confirm this situation.
