Bahmut’s Riddle: Conflicting Explanations Ahead
Located in the middle of the Ukrainian cities of Donetsk, Kramatorsk and Lugansk, the city of Bahmut is considered a place of strategic importance for both countries.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced yesterday the capture of Bahmut and congratulated both the Wagner group and the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who was continuing his contacts at the G7 Summit in Japan at the time, responded to a question from members of the press about Bahmut’s capture by saying “I don’t think so.”
Then, the spokesman for the President of Ukraine, Sergii Nykyforov, pointing to Zelenskiy’s response to the press, said: “Therefore, the president denied that Bahmut was captured.”
Prior to the aforementioned statements, news had been shared about the preparation of a counterattack in the Bahmut region of Ukraine.
UNCONQUERED BAHMUT
Bahmut’s photos were shared on the official social media account of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
In the post, the expressions “Undefeated Bahmut” were produced.
The photos showed the city where smoke was rising and many buildings were damaged.
