Meloni landed in the morning in the city of Rimini on the Adriatic Sea. You have visited various cities in Emilia-Romagna, where around 36,000 people have been evacuated. Many latecomers are still without electricity.

The rain has now stopped in the disaster area, where rescue teams and local volunteers are pumping out buildings and clearing mud from the streets before it hardens in the sun. Several EU countries, including Germany and France, will send pumping equipment to help, the European Commission announced on Sunday.

The Italian government will meet on Tuesday to discuss further measures to deal with the emergency.
