Russian warriors: we captured the critical city
The leader of the Russian Wagner mercenary army, Yevgeny Prigozin, argued that they had completely taken control of Bahmut, where the most intense fighting in the Ukrainian war took place.
After months of fighting in Bahmut, one of the most critical points of the Ukrainian war, Prigozin said in the video he shared: “Today, around 12 noon, Bahmut was completely taken.” Prigozin, who took a video with soldiers at the front carrying Russian flags, noted that Wagner’s forces would withdraw to rest points from May 25, saying: “We took the whole city, house by house.”
The Ukrainian military denied the claim. An army spokesman said: “This is not true. Clashes continue in Bahmut,” he said.
The Reuters news agency also reported that the Wagner leader’s claim was not confirmed by independent sources.
F16 REACTION FROM RUSSIA TO THE US
Meanwhile, Russia has reacted strongly to the US decision to hand over F16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said that if Western countries do this, they will be at great risk. Grushko said: “We see that Western countries are still taking steps to increase the tension. “This involves huge risks for them,” he said.
