The Administrative Court of Lille announced its decision on the collection of names, surnames and date of birth of protesters detained in the framework of the pension reform in a file.

The court ruled that the creation of this file was “illegal”.

The court decided that the Lille public prosecutor’s office and the French Ministry of Justice had to delete all personal data from the file in question, and the French state also ordered the plaintiffs to pay a fine of 3,000 euros in total.

Adelico, the Association for the Defense of Constitutional Freedoms, the Lawyers Union, the French Association for Human Rights (LDH) and the person whose initials are MX, asked the court that the Lille prosecutor’s office withdraw the file containing the information from the Protesters detained as part of the demonstrations against the reform.

As part of the pension reform that came into force, the retirement age was gradually increased to 64 years. (AA)
