Russia declares Greenpeace organization “unwelcome”

In the statement of the Prosecutor General’s Office, it was indicated that, as a result of the examination of the collected materials, the activities of the international non-profit organization Greenpeace pose a threat to the foundations of the constitutional order and security of Russia.

Regarding Russia, the statement argued that Greenpeace’s environmental activities actually actively support a political position, attempt to intervene in the internal affairs of the state, and aim to undermine its economic foundations. They are making anti-Russian propaganda, calling for sanctions.” Statements were included.

The statement noted that Greenpeace’s efforts “generally prevent the implementation of Russian state programs by organizing information campaigns and massive public actions to create negative public opinion, prevent infrastructure and energy applications beneficial to the country,” also noting that the organization finances the activities of those with the status of “foreign agents” in Russia.

In the statement, “Information that Greenpeace’s activities are considered undesirable has been sent to the Russian Ministry of Justice for inclusion in the list of foreign and international non-governmental organizations whose activities are considered undesirable in the Russian Federation.” information was shared.

The environmental organization Greenpeace has been operating in Russia for more than 30 years. (AA)
