The Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the attack on Masjid al-Aqsa

Dozens of people took part in the action organized by Palestinian groups in the blockaded Gaza Strip.

The youths gathered near the barbed wire fences on the Israeli Gaza border with Palestinian flags in their hands and set their car tires on fire.

Palestinian protesters often chanted slogans like “Jerusalem is ours”, “Our lives and our blood will be sacrificed for you, oh Aksa”, “We will go to Jerusalem (even if we give millions of martyrs)”.

Israeli soldiers gathered in front of the barbed wire, on the other hand, threw tear gas canisters at the Palestinians’ side.

Hamas spokesman Abdullatif Kanu told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the “flag march” is one of the indicators of Israel’s attempt to expand its sovereignty over the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Emphasizing that the determination and determination of the Palestinian people will prevent Israel from achieving its goal, Kanu said that the fight between Israel and Israel over the identity of Masjid al-Aqsa is open and ongoing.

“WALK OF THE FLAG”

Fanatic far-right Jewish settlers stage a provocative “flag march” every year according to the Hebrew Calendar, due to Israel’s occupation of East Jerusalem in 1967.

In the “flag march”, tens of thousands of Jewish settlers march through the Old City of East Jerusalem, where Palestinians are concentrated.

Israeli police are closing off areas where Palestinians live to pedestrian and vehicle traffic during the march. There are incidents in which thousands of fanatical Jewish settlers marching with Israeli flags and singing racist anthems attack Palestinians, their shops, their houses and their vehicles.

Israel announced that it has deployed 3,200 troops to this year’s march.

SENTENCE OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGNERS

In a statement made by the Foreign Ministry, “We strongly condemn the fanatical Jewish groups storming Masjid al-Aqsa under the protection of the Israeli police and their attempts to worship in this area, once again violating the historical status quo in Haram al-Sharif.” statement was included.

In the statement, it was stated that the Ministry reiterated its call on the Israeli government not to allow such provocative actions and, to ensure this, hopes that the necessary measures to protect the status quo at the holy sites will be taken seriously and without delay.

occupied east jerusalem

Israel occupied East Jerusalem after the 1967 Six-Day War. Under international law, East Jerusalem is considered occupied.

However, Israel unilaterally declared Jerusalem its “entire and united capital” in 1980. This decision by Israel was not accepted by the international community.

Under international law, Israel’s domination of East Jerusalem is considered illegal. Settlements built by Israel to balance the demographic balance in East Jerusalem with respect to the Jewish population are also considered illegal.

By recognizing East Jerusalem as its future capital, Palestine accuses Israel of discriminating against the city’s Palestinian population and “attempting to Judaize the city.” (AA)
