Ukraine shoots down 29 of 30 cruise missiles in Russian attack
The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down 29 of 30 Russian cruise missiles fired overnight. The Russian attack targeted Kiev and other regions. One person is said to have been killed in an attack in Odessa in the south.
“The Russian occupiers launched several waves of rocket attacks from different directions. A total of 30 sea, air and land-based cruise missiles were fired,” the army said, adding that Ukraine’s air defense systems “destroyed 29 cruise missiles.” Two attack drones and two Iranian-made reconnaissance drones were deactivated.
Freight train carrying grain derailed in Crimea
A freight train carrying grain derailed on the railway line between the cities of Simferopol and Sevastopol in the Crimea. According to the railway company, the derailment was caused by “interference from outsiders”.
In a statement to Telegram, Sergei Aksyonov, the Russian governor of Crimea, said grain carts derailed and no one was injured. Rail traffic between the two cities has been suspended.
