British Defense Minister Ben Wallace, at a news conference with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in the capital Berlin, said the two countries wish to continue their close cooperation in providing military support to Ukraine.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that they, Britain and the Netherlands do not have the training capacity or military equipment to actively contribute to the formation of an “international coalition” that will support Ukraine in all aspects, from training to supplying F-16s. jets to provide combat air capabilities.

“We cannot play an active role in such an alliance, in such a coalition, because we don’t have the training capacity, the mandate, or the aircraft,” Pistorius said. saying. Pistorius also noted that the final decision on a possible delivery of F-16 fighter jets to kyiv rests with the United States.

Pistorius stated that the fighter jets in the German army’s inventory are not suitable for use in Ukraine and stressed that Ukraine is supported by other competencies such as tanks and air defense.

On the other hand, after long hesitation, Germany had formed an alliance to supply the Ukraine with German-made Leopard 2s.
