Musk’s photo with Macron became the agenda
The star guest at French President Emmanuel Macron’s annual summit of global corporate leaders in Versailles was undoubtedly Elon Musk, one of the prominent technology leaders of recent years. However, it was striking that Musk attended the meeting without shaving and with his hair messy.
Musk’s irregular appearance was on the agenda.
The reason for this Musk appearance was the music festival he attended the night before.
The 51-year-old head of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter was invited to the Elysee Palace as a guest of Macron’s annual summit of global corporate leaders in Versailles to encourage investment in France.
IT WAS AT THE FESTIVAL LAST NIGHT AGO
The brief speech of the duo, who met before the official sessions, drew attention. “I had to sleep in the car,” Musk told Macron. The president responded, “OK,” to Musk. Because Elon Musk met the French leader after his overnight flight from Mexico, where he was seen dancing at a music festival.
After being spotted dancing at an electronic music festival in Cabo San Lucas, Musk arrived in France on a Gulfstream G650 plane and headed for the palace with a convoy of Tesla cars.
Macron met with Musk and other businessmen as part of his effort to make France Europe’s hotspot for foreign investment. During this summit, the French leader announced a new investment in industry and research and development worth 13,000 million euros in the country.
The president is very enthusiastic about France being at the forefront of the green industry. And it claims to be the location of Tesla’s second giant factory in Europe.
After meeting Macron, Musk said: “No comment today, but President Macron, I was very impressed by the French government and how hospitable it was.”
MACRON: “WE HAVE MANY THINGS TO DO TOGETHER”
Macron tweeted about the talks as follows: “We discussed the attractiveness of France and significant progress in the energy and electric vehicle sectors. We also talk about digital regulation. We have a lot to do together.”
Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire, on the other hand, refused to talk about whether a Tesla factory would soon be built in France, saying: “If we want these discussions to succeed, we better keep them secret.”
During the summit, Macron also received harsh criticism. Macron has been accused of ignoring the plight of the French people, who are struggling to make a living with rising inflation, and of goofing around with billionaires. In addition, Macron continues to receive public reactions for extending the retirement age by two more years.
