Zelensky: I returned from Europe with more arms and support
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy completed his 3-day tour, visiting Italy, Germany, France and England.
Zelenskiy shared the details of these visits in his daily address to the nation. Stating that he returned to the country with more weapons, more protection for the Ukrainian people and more political support, Zelenskiy claimed that the Ukrainian Peace Formula was discussed in all his meetings.
“Now there is more willingness among our partners to follow the Ukrainian formula,” Zelenskiy said. “There is more support for our EU membership, more understanding that Ukraine’s NATO membership will happen and that it is inevitable,” he said.
HE VISITED THE BASE WHERE SOLDIERS FEED
Saying that he met with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, President Sergio Mattarella and Pope Francis on his first stop in Italy, Zelenskiy thanked Italy for helping to protect the lives of Ukrainians. Zelenskiy, who said he met President Frank-Walter Steinmer and Prime Minister Olaf Scholz during his visit to Germany, said that after his contacts in the capital Berlin, he visited the military base in the city of Aachen, where they train. Zelenskiy also said that he received the International Charlemagne Prize on behalf of the Ukrainian people, saying: “I am grateful to Germany for the largest defense package, 2.7 billion euros. NEW POLITICAL AGREEMENTS IN FRANCE
Emphasizing that they had a long and useful meeting with President Emmanuel Macron on his third stop, France, Zelenskiy said: “There is a new military package. It is a powerful package. There are new political agreements. I thank France for the new opportunities it has given our soldiers in the fight against Russian terrorism, but now is not the time to talk about the details. Thanks for the extra equipment and armored vehicles. Thank you for your help in unifying our partners.”
Zelenskiy, who claimed that he met Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on his last stopover in England, assessed his visit to England with the following statements:
