Erdogan received 49.5% of the vote, Kilicdaroglu 44.9%. On May 28, the Turks will return to vote because no one has managed to bring 50 percent of the voters with them. Dutch citizens of Turkish origin can go to the polls from 20 to 24 May. There can therefore be only one choice between Erdogan and Kilicdaroglu, proposed by six opposition parties.
The third presidential candidate, Sinan Ogan, received fewer votes than Kilicdaroglu and is therefore out. Muharrem Ince received even fewer votes but withdrew as a candidate at the last minute last week.
